Black & White Challenge

 A couple weeks ago my friend Mark called me out on Facebook to a Black & White 5-Day Challenge. We named a few other friends and members of our photography club to join us as well.

Apparently I wasn't given all the rules, because I was the only one who shot brand-new photos instead of just posting old favorites. This was actually a good thing because it inspired me to get off my butt and get back into photography for the fun of it, so Thanks, Mark! 

As always, I shot these using the F828 capturing infrared light only.

Triathlon Continued

After riding 13.8 miles Sylvia navigates the transition area before starting the 3 mile run. (The swim was 500 meters).

No idea why a man would have a Barbie™ in his pocket, unless he knew I was there looking for weirdness. So...thanks?

While at least three women are wasting time high-fiving spectators, Sylvia pulls around the pack and pours it on.
She passed them all and got to "break" the tape.
(It's actually a heavy vinyl banner that race crew members raise again and again when there's a break in traffic).

It was great that some family members attended this event--it meant a lot to Sylvia.
We're all very proud of her!

Municipal Auditorium Zone

It was almost solid overcast that night, but I had some stuff I needed to shoot and the spare time was there so we made a quick trek downtown.

The Municipal Auditorium has been featured here a few times, but for whatever reason I never climbed the steps and looked up before.
Wow!

This is the flag flying over San Antonio's Korean War Memorial--there wasn't enough light to shoot the memorial itself.

I always get a little misty-eyed here.
My new favorite view of this spot, but I'm convinced I can do better.

Someday I hope to shoot these overhead lanes of IH10 correctly.
Camera-balanced-on-steeringwheel @ 65mph doesn't really cut it.

The New Bike

Sylvia loves her new Fuji road bike.
It's worlds apart from my first Columbia 10-speed.
Lighter, smoother, faster, 21 freaking gear combinations.
Even more impressive, the frame has two water bottle holders. Now that's progress!

New helmet, too.
Still need a lock and tire pump.


New shades complete the package.
