Missile Barrage!

One of my favorite fireworks as a kid, I caught this at a party we attended on New Year's Eve.
I used flash to freeze the smoke and light the ground somewhat (the flash was tilted up a few degrees to lessen the ground's light) and then a very long exposure to catch the streaks from all of the missiles that fire sequentially.

Well thought out and well executed. I'd never have considered slow-sync flash for fireworks, but you make it look like something you do all the time.

Thanks, Matthew. To be honest, it IS something I do all the time or at least consider during the planning stage of every photo. Straight daylight color pics are always my last resort after eliminating every other possible technique or style. Keeps me thinking.
