Candy Is Dandy

Snakes won't eat when their skin is too tight, so after shedding last week I knew Candy would be hungry.
First, she has to earn her meal by posing for the "Chair Project".

This is (was) the 2nd mouse:

Sylvia latest medal, from today's Rock & Roll Marathon:
I would have gone, but didn't wake up until 1:23pm. Oops.
(I haven't slept well all week)
I'm very proud of her--she came home to a bouquet of flowers sold to me by a couple of surly emo "girls" who'll never get another dime from me.
Hey, try not to let your hatred of men interfere with commerce?

Chalk 2 +

Some more photos from Chalk It Up! 2010:

A guy in my camera club met this guy in a bar that night and drank beer with him for hours.

The stolen chair project continues:
That's the largest wooden roller coaster in Texas back there, so obviously I was parked behing Neiman Marcus.

When did my visitor counter pass 50,000?
Last time I looked it was at half that, and I'm pretty sure that it only passed 20K less than two years ago.

"The Chair" and Halloween Preparations

Now that we have a truck, I've been trying to remember to drag the bar stool around with me so I can add location pictures to the project.

Halloween will be here before too long, so I'm already planning this year's upgrades(?) to the show:

I'm trying to increase my use of sound this year, and last night thought of a way to assemble some spare parts laying around for a new gag on the trick-or-treaters.
Wired and tested successfully tonight.

Not your typical "spooky" trick--more like a life lesson.

Adventures Around Town

I'm driving!
Get Outta My Way!!

Went to Converse to hang with my brother--took him shopping in my new truck.
At the 1604/Kitty Hawk HEB I spotted this funny scene:
I'm not above posing something like this, but not this time.

Then there's this:
Fill the ball on the right with water and throw it in the dryer, and you get Mr. Steamy.
The one on the left--Mr. Explodey.

At the Forum BestBuy I got to add to my Stolen Chair Project.
(Yes, I've started taking it with me in the truck)

Blanco Fix-It has my lawnmower fixed after just 2 days.
While dropping it off I got mad when I saw someone wheeling in a mower with an inch of mud flaking off it's wheels.
Not very considerate.
I hosed mine down before taking it in.

Also, it appears that my truck has an alarm system, because just now when I shut it off the horn beeped twice and an LED on the dash started to blink.
According to the manual, the factory optional alarm has a remote so this is aftermarket.
Hopefully I can figure it all out and not wake the neighbors.

The Stolen Chair Project

This is inspired by those silly Brits who had a fad a few years back where they would borrow someone's garden gnome, take it on vacation, then return it with a packet of prints showing his amazing adventures.
(The reason Travelocity uses a garden gnome as it's spokesman, by the way.)

There's one club we play in SA that is cramped for space, so I have no room for light tripods--I have to hang them all from the rafters. Thankfully, the seating in this club is these really sturdy and tall wooden chairs that make excellent improvised ladders.
I have yet to fall from one and break a rib, unlike real ladders (twice) and swiveling stools (once).

Last Saturday, one of the chairs in question ended up in the back of our truck somehow, and has been getting all kinds of late night action.
The plan is to leave it on their doorstep right before opening, with prints of all these pics. Not really sure how we can witness the reaction/payoff without getting busted, though.

On With The Show!
(in chronological order)

What I did was shoot 2-4 pics every night this week.
And since it's also an exercise designed to get me back into taking pictures regularly I decided to handicap myself by working very quickly and also keep PhotoChopping to the bare minimum.
And to only use the 50mm lens, which isn't a problem since my other two have been gathering dust since I bought it.

It was very hard to come up with so many locations indoors, and I fell back on my usual props thus far, but I still have plenty of future photo-ops when I start taking the chair around town next week.
Any suggestions gratefully considered!
